How to get an AI summary of a Zoom meeting
Zoom creates an audio transcript for cloud recordings when the audio-transcript feature is on (licensed plans). Once you have that .vtt text, an AI summary takes four steps.
- Get your Zoom transcript In the Zoom web portal, open Recordings → your meeting → Audio Transcript. It’s available when “Create audio transcript” is on and the meeting was recorded to the cloud.
- Copy or download the transcript Open the Audio Transcript and copy the text, or download the .vtt file and upload it above. Timestamps and speaker names are fine to leave in.
- Paste it above and summarize Paste the transcript and click “Summarize meeting”. In seconds you get an AI summary, the decisions, and action items.
- Copy or download the recap Copy the summary as Markdown or download a .md file for Notion, Docs, or a recap email.
